Well, nothing exciting is happening in my life, so I'm just checking in, and adding a couple of thoughts....

- A request to the public at large: Please don't go into a store and write a $500 check on an out of state account when you only have $50 in the bank. And if you go ahead and do such a silly thing anyway, do not get mad at the cashier for refusing your rubber check. It would also be nice if you wouldn't swear at her, or inform her that she has a weight problem. She's probably already aware of that fact. Besides, when you go into a store and act like that, we make fun of you after you leave.

-I'm making 2 trays of lasanga tonight.

- 12 more days to Capricon! Glee!

Jan. 14th, 2004 05:21 pm found a bookstore

... there's a used bookstore in town. I checked it out today, picked up an old copy of Willow.

I've heard rumors of a comic book shop in Bradley, the next town over. I'm hoping that I'll find gamers there.

I'm making a pizza for dinner. :-) Spinach, ricotta cheese, pepperoni, 4 cheese topping. Life is good!

I was born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago. Last year I moved in with my boyfriend, Fred, in Joliet, Illinois. I'm divorced and have 2 children, Fred has 1. The apartment we lived in was too small for us, so we started looking for a house. We found a beautiful place in a town called Kankakee, Il, and we moved there in November 2003. I'm very happy in my new home, but I don't know anyone here, and I'm lonely.

My daughter, Allison, is 15, and a freshman in high school. My son, Tony, is 11, and he's in 5th grade. Fred's son, Karl, is 8, he's in 3rd grade.

I work for a home improvement store called Menard's. I'm a cashier. I like my job, as far as "joe" jobs go, it's above average. Save Big Money At Menard's! :-)

I used to be a dog groomer, and I used to show dogs in conformation. I don't have any pets right now, though, and I'm not planning to get a pet anytime soon.

I love to read history and science-fiction/fantasy. I'm a big fan of a comic book called "Dork Tower". I play RPG's. I attend sf conventions, and I'm looking forward to going to Capricon at the end of the month. On TV, I like "That 70's Show". I crochet. I like to cook, Italian being a specialty of mine, since the neighborhood I grew up in was Italian (pronounced EYE-tal-yun!) :-D

I'm feeling pretty upbeat about life these days. Looking forward to learning how to do repairs on my new home, decorating cheap, stuff like that.

Current Mood: geeky
